Fisher Space Pens for Axiom Space
For over 50 years, Fisher has enjoyed being a part of the evolution of space travel. Our story is part of the heritage that commercial space agencies look to infuse within their own story. Fisher is proud to announce the extension of our story by partnering with a leading commercial brand, Axiom Space.
Back in 1968, Paul C. Fisher set the stage for Fisher Space Pen to one day work with cutting-edge commercial partners like Axiom Space and it is a privilege to call them our new partner. Axiom Space has lofty mission goals and Fisher is proud to announce that our pens will be there assisting their astronauts on every mission, helping them write their own story.
Matt Fisher, Vice President of Fisher Space Pen, says “Our partnership with Axiom Space is one giant step in extending my grandfather’s legacy. He would have been “over the moon” excited to see this partnership come to fruition.”
Axiom Space operates missions to the International Space Station (ISS) for customers, including space agencies, companies, and individuals. They are also the builder and future owner and operator of Axiom Station, the successor to the ISS. This is one of the only aerospace companies with the privilege of connecting its modules to the ISS during the new station’s assembly in Earth’s orbit. This connection allows them to build the successor station cost-effectively, while adopting the multinational user base and select hardware from the ISS.
Recently, Axiom Space was chosen by NASA to design the next-generation spacesuit called the Axiom Extravehicular Mobility Unit (AxEMU). The AxEMU will provide astronauts with advanced capabilities for space exploration while providing NASA with commercially developed human systems needed to access, live and work on and around the Moon. The Axiom Space spacesuits were created to provide increased flexibility, greater protection to withstand the harsh environment, and specialized tools to accomplish exploration needs and expand scientific opportunities.
